2nd SMS SANSAD ON “INDIA@2047: VISION FOR A DEVELOPED NATION” ORGANIZED AT SMS LUCKNOW

Lucknow: School of Management Sciences (SMS), Lucknow, successfully organized its 2nd annual Model Parliament SMS SANSAD’25 on the theme “India @ 2047:Vision for A Developed Nation.” The event brought together students, faculty members, and domain experts for a dynamic simulation of parliamentary proceedings focused on envisioning India’s future as it completes 100 years of independence.

The program commenced with the welcome address by Dr. Ashish Bhatnagar, Director, SMS Lucknow, who emphasized the significance of youth engagement in shaping India’s long-term developmental roadmap. He highlighted that the Model Parliament requires innovative thinking, strong leadership, and policy-oriented discussions—qualities that young minds must actively cultivate.

The Chief Guest, Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh,  Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly& State Minister Parliamentary Affairs, Medical Education, Medical and Health, Family Welfare , Mother and Child Welfare, appreciated the enthusiasm of the participants and highlighted how Model Parliament platforms empower students to think critically, debate constructively, and put forth structured policy solutions for the nation’s progress. He also encouraged students to contribute meaningfully to India’s developmental journey as future leaders and policymakers.

SMS SANSAD’25 witnessed participation from 20+ teams representing various colleges from Lucknow and nearby cities. Participants took up key parliamentary roles including Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers, Opposition Leader, and Members of Parliament representing different states of India.

Participants presented insightful policy proposals aimed at transforming India into a developed, sustainable, and innovation-driven nation by 2047.

Sharad Singh, Secretary and CEO, SMS Lucknow, stated that SMS SANSAD plays a crucial role in nurturing leadership qualities and civic awareness among students. He emphasized that such academic simulations contribute meaningfully to nation-building by igniting informed, responsible, and visionary thinking among the youth.

The event concluded with the passage of a comprehensive Vision 2047 Resolution, reflecting the participants’ collective aspirations for a progressive, empowered, and futuristic India.

Dr. Suman Kundi, Event Coordinator, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, faculty members, and the organizing team for their dedication and hard work. She noted that SMS SANSAD’25 offered students a valuable platform to practice policymaking, collaborative decision-making, and public leadership.

The event further reinforced SMS Lucknow’s commitment to holistic education and experiential learning, combining academic excellence with social responsibility.
